Ryan Emhoff, MD

Dr. Ryan Emhoff is a psychiatrist practicing outpatient psychiatry and psychotherapy in the Milwaukee area. He earned his medical degree from Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University and completed his psychiatry residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW), where he served as Chief Resident for the Center for Psychotherapies. He continues to serve as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at MCW. His professional interests center on integrating evidence-based psychiatry with psychotherapy, mindfulness, and whole-person psychiatric care. Clinically, he has particular interests in healthcare worker mental health, the arts and humanities in medicine, LGBTQ+ affirming care, and trauma-informed treatment. Dr. Emhoff serves on the Executive Council of the Wisconsin Psychiatric Association as the Early Career Representative and co-chairs the Psychiatric Advance Directive Legislative Subcommittee. Prior to his current appointment, he was a Resident Representative to the WPA for MCW’s Milwaukee campus while he was in training. He is passionate about advocacy, psychiatric education, and advancing patient autonomy through thoughtful, collaborative psychiatric care.
